New Old Friends

Are GREAT!!!

Most people keep in touch with me via my myspace account. Well, the people that I let have access to it anyways.

One of my friends is a woman I went to high school with. Her name is Kerith. When I think about it, I don't know what you'd call our high school friendship. I mean, we didn't "hang out" together, but I feel very comfortable saying that we didn't dislike each other or anything like that (I was kind of one of those that seemed to be able to talk to a wide variety of people, but didn't hang out with very many people). But anyway, I've come to really respect her and enjoy a friendship with her over the past year or so, via.... myspace.

Kerith is just one of those kinds of women who really know how to make another woman feel good. She is so kind, her personality uplifting and encouraging! She's filled with wisdom and knows how to write a good article! (Kerith, think "Valentine's Day")

Anytime I tell Kerith that I'm doing or have done something, she writes the biggest "hoo-RAH" notes and it is so uplifting!

Kerith, even something as simple as saying you bookmarked my blog was... well, appreciated! You're an amazing person and I'm happy to be in touch!

Hard to find products

Have you ever needed a very specific food product and searched all over hell & back to find it?

Well, thankfully we have the internet, so I'm not driving all over the place, but.... I can't even find a local seller via the net!

The product? Badia Cuban Seasoning. Well, I don't think it IS CUBAN (not FROM Cuba), but is similar to a cuban spice, I guess. Anyway, I can't find the stuff anywhere and want to make a really yummy chicken recipe that needs it.

argh!

People Who Are Annoying Who Are Annoyed by Other People

Is it a pun when someone who is annoyed by a particular someone else ends up being really annoying to other people?

I found it really funny. Person A looks away and rolls the person A eyes every time person B speaks. OK, so person B might have some issues. But, person B really DOES have information that might benefit all of us at some time or another.

I'm not very good at hiding when somebody is annoying me (Seriously, I am not person A OR B in this scenario - unless someone else is writing a similar story about me tonight and I don't know it). It is really hard, because there are parts of me that really LIKE person A. But there are other parts of me that are SO F-ING annoyed by person A! I'm struggling to get over it and just be accepting, but.... it's so hard. But when I saw person A make these terrible faces SO MANY times, I wanted to BOP him/her on the head and say "don't you know how f-ing annoying YOU are? Get over the fact that person B might be a little annoying!"

It's probably a good thing I'm not a parent to human children. I'm NOT feeling very patient today. Especially towards people who are annoying.

Hobbies - To Keep or Not to Keep

I think I've decided that I have too many desires when it comes to hobbies!

I have a TON of beading stuff, a ton of knitting & crochet stuff, a ton on photograpic equipment, and of course..... twelve tons of quilting stuff, including 3 sewing machines and about hundred pounds of fabric (slight exaggeration possible)!

So anyway, I have made the decision to pass along my beading goodies. I think about giving the crochet/knitting stuff away, too. But.... hmmm, I don't know if I can do it! I don't mind even just making little dish cloths & stuff. I like the creative outlet that comes with crocheting - different patterns I can do & stuff. I haven't really "got" knitting yet. I don't think I'll try anymore until after I'm done with school, either. My Aunt has a knitting machine and wants to make me a sweater. I'm thinking... "a MACHINE" that you can knit with!?!?!?!?!? Hmmmm. The Brain parts are spinning!

Ok, enough for now. I need to get some reading in!

WOW - I feel crappy!

So, it started with a migraine on Thursday. Normally, those last 4-5 days, but I managed to get it to go away last night (Friday) by taking Excederin.... I took 2 more before I went to bed because I could feel it creeping back....

So this morning, about 6am, I wake up with my stomach feeling really weird. I can't figure out if it's upset, or hungry. So, I just lay there trying to fall back asleep. After all, since I went to bed at 2am, I definitely haven't got my 8 hours in!! Anyway, I lay there about an hour before finally taking some Pepto - which helped, thankfully. Fell back asleep until about 10:something. Yay!!

But darn it if the stomach-hurting isn't back again! I NEED to be reading today.
I think I'll go make some Malt-O-Meal and eat it plain. Maybe that will work. Hopefully it will be bland enough to not make matters worse!

Friday, September 21, 2007 Partini III

Wow, did I wake up with a banger of a migraine today!
Not surpisingly, I guess, since I had gone to bed with it last night. Whatever! I was just hoping it would magically disappear overnight. Instead, I woke up about every 30-60 minutes because of the pounding with each movement.

Ok, so anyway, I get up this morning - futz around on the computer for an hour or so, and decide it just hurts too much to be "upright" ----> and promply go back to bed. Darn head doesn't really feel better laying down, but whatever.

Eventually I had to get up to go have my TB test read and go to the post office. Came back to make a pot-luck dish for a FUN event we were going to tonight. I made some pretty yummy scalloped potatoes! Ummmmm.

So, Partini III. How much more fun can you have? "Partini" is a game night. It's held at the home of our dental-hygenist. We were first invited to Partini II, which was held in July. The dental office decided to do this every few months and decided to invite a couple of patient-couples. I would guestimate there are about 9 couples there - pretty good group! They have tables/chairs set up in 3 rooms, with a different game at each table. You play for about an hour per game, then switch to another table to play another game with a different group of people. We all have dinner, all have dessert, and partake in whatever drinks we bring (or others share).

Tonight I was at a table that played "Apples to Apples" and another game called "Stare." Apples to Apples was definitely the better of the two games, but I really DID like Stare, too!!! I think it just takes the right frame of mind. I had it - others weren't so happy playing. So, we went back to Apples to Apples. FUN FUN FUN!!

The whole evening was great. Not only did I have fun playing games, but..... just about ALL of my dish was devoured, my migraine went away w/in about an hour, and I got to meet some new people while getting re-acquainted with some I'd met last time. I can not wait for Partini IV - a great way to spend a Friday evening!!!

(thank you, Denise & Tom!)
