Friday, September 21, 2007 Partini III

Wow, did I wake up with a banger of a migraine today!
Not surpisingly, I guess, since I had gone to bed with it last night. Whatever! I was just hoping it would magically disappear overnight. Instead, I woke up about every 30-60 minutes because of the pounding with each movement.

Ok, so anyway, I get up this morning - futz around on the computer for an hour or so, and decide it just hurts too much to be "upright" ----> and promply go back to bed. Darn head doesn't really feel better laying down, but whatever.

Eventually I had to get up to go have my TB test read and go to the post office. Came back to make a pot-luck dish for a FUN event we were going to tonight. I made some pretty yummy scalloped potatoes! Ummmmm.

So, Partini III. How much more fun can you have? "Partini" is a game night. It's held at the home of our dental-hygenist. We were first invited to Partini II, which was held in July. The dental office decided to do this every few months and decided to invite a couple of patient-couples. I would guestimate there are about 9 couples there - pretty good group! They have tables/chairs set up in 3 rooms, with a different game at each table. You play for about an hour per game, then switch to another table to play another game with a different group of people. We all have dinner, all have dessert, and partake in whatever drinks we bring (or others share).

Tonight I was at a table that played "Apples to Apples" and another game called "Stare." Apples to Apples was definitely the better of the two games, but I really DID like Stare, too!!! I think it just takes the right frame of mind. I had it - others weren't so happy playing. So, we went back to Apples to Apples. FUN FUN FUN!!

The whole evening was great. Not only did I have fun playing games, but..... just about ALL of my dish was devoured, my migraine went away w/in about an hour, and I got to meet some new people while getting re-acquainted with some I'd met last time. I can not wait for Partini IV - a great way to spend a Friday evening!!!

(thank you, Denise & Tom!)
