Life is Good

First of all, it's almost unbelievable that it's been less than a month since my last post. l have no explanation, other than I really should be reading right now. But, I'm exhausted. How much can you gain from reading in this condition? Right. Exactly! That's why I'm writing instead. :)

I have a lot in life to be excited about. Life is great. I'm more than grateful!

I'll be done with school in about 3 weeks. Did I say DONE? I can't even believe it. I know this will sound terrible, but... as a younger person, I NEVER thought I'd have my BSN. Only after getting married, and having the encouragement from D, did I "know" that this was something I could accomplish. It's a dream come true (almost... soooo close!)!!!! Next up? MSN! However, I do plan to take a break from school for awhile before I tackle that one.

We're planning a trip to Santa Fe, and I'm super excited about it. We've talked for years about wanting to do this together! I've never been there, but D has and says it's a pretty neat place. Apparently, it's pretty "artsy-fartsy," which is something I really love. Maybe we might just bring a little "artsy" home with us... It's been awhile since we've gone away, too, so it means that much more!

When school's out, I'll be working hard on my "hospital job" hunt. I love my current job, but the hospital has always been my goal. So... wish me luck! I KNOW I'll be a great acute-care RN, but I just need to get to the floor! There are so many areas I'm interested in, I'm really EXCITED to see where I end up! I've also been so very fortunate to have amazing clinical preceptors in the RN-BSN program! Again, I'm so grateful... Another aspect of the job hunt is what city I'll end up in. If I find a position locally, that would be great. But I will also look in the Seattle area because we really love it up there! If we stay local, we may move or we may do some remodeling here at home. Maybe - maybe not. Like with the job hunt, it'll be exciting to see what we're doing in a year or so!

Oh - speaking of remodeling... We recently redid a living room area, putting in new french doors and hardwood flooring. The old nasty carpet HAD to go! It turned out gorgeous! Now we're going to use this room as a large dining room area. We're working on getting the new table/chairs ordered now. Can't wait! We're looking forward to entertaining more ~ having people over for food & fun. We'll be on the hunt for some new games (any suggestions?)...

Haven't been sewing/quilting much lately, although I did get some new shelves from a friend today that I'm super excited about. I'll be reorganizing my sewing room so that I can SEE my fabric. It's currently all in drawers & it doesn't get used because I can't SEE what's in there!

Oh yeah... and did I mention I have a "big" birthday coming up in exactly TWO months? Can't wait!!!!!
